We wanted a place that would be appropriate for a fun, upscale clambake-style reception that is also kid-friendly. We are having a tough time finding that in Connecticut. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The Crowne Plaza in Enfield, CT has a great setting for what you are looking for. Set on 11 acres, there is a gazebo for on-site ceremonies and they offer great summer picnic menus, which include a clam-bake. They also have indoor and outdoor swimming pools, basketball, volleyball and tennis on-site. Check out the website at www.cpenfield.com.
